Im Rahmen der aktuellen Ausstellung \u00bbsound.nodes\u00ab spricht Anna Bromley am 19. August 2020, 19 – 22 Uhr, mit Diana McCarty und Brandon LaBelle im B\u00e4renzwinger Berlin \u00fcber Praxis und Theorie freier Radios als \u00bbsocial media\u00ab, \u00fcber Community Building und die Bedeutung von Sounds und Kl\u00e4ngen in sozialen Prozessen und f\u00fcr emanzipatorische Praktiken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Diana McCarty ist Mitbegr\u00fcnderin des preisgekr\u00f6nten freien K\u00fcnstlerradios reboot.fm\/88.4 mhz und von faces-l, einer internationalen Community f\u00fcr Frauen in den Medien. Als Cyberpunk in den 1990er Jahren war sie im Laufe der entstehenden Netzkultur mit Nettime, Metaforum und Hackingspaces aktiv. McCarty ist 2019\/2020 BAK-Fellow in Utrecht (NL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brandon LaBelle besch\u00e4ftigt sich als K\u00fcnstler, Autor und Theoretiker mit \u00bbSound Culture\u00ab sowie Stimmen und Fragen der Agency und Handlungsf\u00e4higkeit. LaBelle entwickelt und pr\u00e4sentiert k\u00fcnstlerische Projekte in diversen internationalen Kontexten, wobei er bevorzugt in \u00f6ffentlichen und informellen R\u00e4umen arbeitet. Im Zentrum seiner Praxis steht die Initiierung gemeinschaftlicher Aktivit\u00e4ten mit anderen, oft durch Formen der performativen P\u00e4dagogik und der Selbstorganisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anna Bromley entwickelt Ausstellungen, Installationen, Performances, Texte, Radiogespr\u00e4che und -st\u00fccke. F\u00fcr die aktuelle Ausstellung \u00bbsound.nodes\u00ab zeigt sie einen \u00bbTransistorsargverst\u00e4rker<\/em>in | Transistor coffin amplifier\u00ab, die aus einer verbeulten Sendeanlage zweier klandestiner Radiosender besteht, die vor etwa 50 Jahren ein vielstimmiges Radio improvisierten. Ihr Interesse gilt au\u00dferdem den Br\u00fcchen und Aussetzern in repr\u00e4sentativen Rede- und Sprechweisen, dem Moderieren als k\u00fcnstlerischer Praxis sowie als Form k\u00fcnstlerischer Vermittlung und Forschung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Die Veranstaltung findet in englischer Sprache statt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ablauf 19. ENG<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the frame of the current exhibition \u00bbsound.nodes\u00ab, Anna Bromley, Diana McCarty and Brandon LaBelle will talk about the practice and theory of free radio as Diana McCarty lives and works in Berlin. She is a co-founder of the award winning free artists radio, reboot.fm\/88,4 mhz and the faces-l international community for women in media. As a cyberpunk in the 1990s, she was active in the emerging netzkultur and nettime, MetaForum and hackingspaces. McCarty is a BAK Fellow 2019\/2020 in Utrecht (NL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Brandon LaBelle is an artist, writer and theorist working with sound culture, voice, and questions of agency. He develops and presents artistic projects within a range of international contexts, mostly working in public and informal spaces. Central to his practice is initiating collaborative activities with others, often through forms of performative pedagogy and self-organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anna Bromley creates installations, performances, exhibitions, texts, radio conversations and radio works. For the current exhibition \u00bbsound.nodes\u00ab she presents a \u00bbTransistorsargverst\u00e4rker*in | Transistor coffin amplifier\u00ab, which consists of a dented transmitter system that belonged to two clandestine radio stations that once improvised a polyphonic programme about 50 years ago.
